COVID-19 Protocols

Please note that CSU is currently requiring vaccinations for all students, staff and faculty but NOT for members of the larger community. As guests of Colorado State University, the Health and Wellness Orchestra follows the COVID-19 policies of CSU.

As a private organization the orchestra reserves the right to set and/or change our own protocols to protect our musicians, many of whom are in the higher risk category. Given that this pandemic is not "over" and in fact a more contagious variant is already in our community, we have decided to require full vaccination for ALL of our musicians this coming season. This would allow us to rehearse and perform and for musicians, including winds and brass players, to join us safely.

In May we almost had to cancel our concert three days before the performance because one member contracted the virus the day after our dress rehearsal. In addition to having to replace this principal player at the last minute, several other musicians had to drop out of the orchestra during the rehearsal period because they and/or family members became infected.

Therefore we hope that anyone who wishes to play with us this coming season will understand our vaccination requirement. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please feel free to contact Dr. Ann Yanagi at akysama@comcast.net
